I love gifts that are practical, cute, and easy to put together. These "Cookies for Santa" jars are just so fun to share with your friends, family, or kid's teachers over the holidays. It's also a great project for you and your kids to do together! My daughter Reese definitely had fun adding the chocolate chips... or should I say eating them. :) You can find these jars at any craft store and fill with all the ingredients to your favorite cookie. I found a recipe online that gave me the exact measurements for a pint size jar which said it would add up to about 20 cookies. A lot goes into that tiny thing! I like in this picture how they used the Christmas color M&M's and the pretty fabric and ribbon to pull it all together. Now that's a gift you know they won't re-gift! :) Happy Holidays! XOXO

The "I'M BORED Jar" (full of indoor fun!)
Finally a fun answer to those indoor rainy days! The "I'M BORED JAR!" I saw this idea in a Parents magazine and it was actually for a "Summer Jar" but why limit it to summer! Living in Houston I can't say there have been many rainy days (unfortunately, our poor cows)... but no matter what’s keeping mom and child indoors – weather the budget or simply boredom – the indoor fun jar activity will help parents transform an ordinary home into an extraordinary world of amusements. Write down different activities on separate slips of paper and drop them into your jar. You can include your child's input or do things you know you as a parent will also enjoy (or have less clean up!). Decorate your jar to make it even more fun. And these aren't just for parents and kids - it's a great idea for the grandparent's house "Grandma's Jar" or "Auntie's Activities". Here are some great activities/ideas to throw in your jar:
-write your own book, and illustrate the pages
- a trip to the museum
-playing a favorite board game
-build a fort in the living room
-bake cookies
-dress up in costumes and role play
-make sock puppets and have a puppet show
-create artwork with markers, crayons, paper, etc.
-make your own instruments with tin cans and beans (drum/rattle)
-eat breakfast for dinner!
The indoor fun jar is filled with tons of fun and imaginative activities for kids to choose from on “indoor” days. The indoor fun jar is certain to facilitate family bonding and build treasured childhood memories. If you have any other ideas comment below! Have a fun day!

Mickey knows your kid's name!
My husband and I recently took a trip to Vegas for our anniversary, where we stayed off the strip (so much better!) and were able to stroll the mall which was right across the street. In one of the kiosks we came upon THE cutest thing for our baby girl, Reese. I just had to share! We told them our daughter's name was Reese, and they proceeded to play different Cd's with our daughter's favorite characters (especially Mickey) saying her name in each song! It was hilarious! I just had to buy the Mickey and the Veggie Tales version. They also had Sesame Street, Princesses, Barney, etc. All the Veggie Tale characters talk about how "God loves Reese" and include some of the most popular songs we listened to as a kid while saying your baby's name in them! I was able to find the website where they sell these and I would highly encourage parent's to buy at least one! This is something I will definitely get for each of my kids in the future. It's the perfect personalized gift, and your child will LOVE hearing Mickey call their name! So cute!!*

Kid Room Ideas!**
Hi friends! This is my daughter, Reese's room. She is the ultimate girly-girl, so of course I had to go girly in her room with pink and purple! I just love to dress up a wall with a frame collage. This first picture is a combination of frames in all different styles: wood, metal, purple, brown; all complimentary accent colors to Reese's decor and furniture. It's a fun way to fill a large wall and use some of those billions of pictures you have of your little one. For easy application- I traced the shapes of each of the frames onto paper (I actually used wrapping paper because some of my frames were larger than a regular sheet of paper). Then I played around with different positions to find just the right one by taping them up onto the wall. Once finished, I was able to nail the frames in place of the paper. Make sure you have a good combination of vertical and horizontal frames in different sizes and colors. Easy!
Another fun idea is to use letters of your child's name for people to sign their warm wishes! I bought the letters for Reese at a craft store and then painted them in an antique finish with light peach/pink paint. The letters were thick enough to place a fun gel pen, or marker on top. Now all Reese's loved ones sign the letters when they visit. What a special keepsake and daily reminder for your baby to know how much they are loved. Hope you enjoy! Have a blessed day!**

Astros Family Day!
For those of you who don't know me or my family we are huge sports people! My husband plays profressional basketball for the Washington Wizards, and my dad coaches for the Houston Astros (baseball- for those of you who have no idea!). The whole year round we are celebrating different teams, and constantly attending sporting events. I took Reese to her first basketball game of Daddy's when she was just 3 weeks old! I know it sounds a little crazy- but she slept right through all the loud music, lights, fire-explosions, and crazy fans! Now she stays wide awake and even sings along and claps to "Deep In The Heart of Texas" at the Astros games. :)
Because we have so much pride for the men athletes of our family, we have to stay supportive in our team gear! That's why I made sure to carry the "My Team Bows" at The Lemonade Cake Boutique. We carry a huge selection of teams in MLB, NFL, NBA, and College, but if you don't see the team you need, we can make whatever you desire! This is a picture of my sister, Brooke, mom, Gari, dad, Bobby, Reese, and brother, Colton at the Astros "Family Day" last year. If Reese had more hair back then she could've worn her Team Bow! :) Go ASTROS!**
